The progression
Every week builds on the one before it. The curriculum is managed by the Guild team and released to each cohort according to their schedule.
Week 1
Set up safely, handle your tools with control and practise a clear first consultation.
Week 2
Read growth patterns, map the head and build repeatable working sections.
Week 3
Follow a guide, control tension and cross-check a small scissor-cut panel.
Week 4
Learn your guard system and create an even short shape with a controlled exit stroke.
Week 5
Plan a fade, connect lengths deliberately and correct lines without losing the shape.
Week 6
Combine scissor and clipper work while preserving the weight and balance of a classic cut.
Week 7
Add purposeful texture conservatively and explain a realistic home styling routine.
Week 8
Agree a beard shape, preserve density and refine lines with supervised tool control.
Week 9
Turn a client request into a clear plan and communicate through the appointment.
Week 10
Use honest timing records to remove wasted effort while protecting service quality.
Week 11
Complete an observed rehearsal and turn trainer feedback into a focused practice plan.
Week 12
Prepare for the observed service, reflect on feedback and understand the completion steps.
