Set one observable lesson outcome

A well-planned station keeps tools visible, clean and reachable without interrupting the service. The goal is a repeatable layout that supports safe movement, efficient resets and calm attention on the client.

Write the outcome as something a trainer can see or hear. Avoid goals such as “understand it better”; name the movement, decision, sequence or finished feature the learner should reproduce.

Demonstrate the decision as well as the action

The trainer should name what they are looking at, which option they choose and how they will know when to stop. The learner then repeats the decision before copying the movement.

• Separate clean, used and disinfected tools clearly.
• Place frequently used tools inside a comfortable reach zone.
• Keep cords, bags and loose items away from walkways.
• Reset the station fully between every model or client.

Move from guided to independent practice

Begin with this controlled exercise: Photograph the station, complete a timed mock setup, perform a simulated tool change sequence and compare the finish against the same reset checklist.
